Happy Friday everyone! We made it to Labor Day weekend! Despite nearing the end of August, it is still quite hot here in Austin which translates to: minimal clothing required. My summer days are spent in cut-off shorts and muscle tanks much like what I am wearing here.  Even the most casual outfits can be dressed up with sparkly jewels and a great bag. I intend to pack similar looks for my weekend trip to LA. It will be whirlwind of visiting old friends, shopping (Reformation, I’m coming for ya), and seeing Yeezus and Kendrick Lamar at the Made in America Festival. So pumped. I will be posting photos on my Facebook Page...follow along there!

Sun's Out, Guns Out

It’s rare that an entire day in London is sunny, so to take advantage of the amazing summer weather, I paired an embellished 3.1 Phillip Lim tank with leather shorts and studded boots. These Quay sunglasses add a pop of color to an otherwise monochromatic outfit. While this look is put together, it is actually quite comfortable for strolling through the city.

Greetings from fabulous London! It is always nice to be back in my favorite city. It has great energy and everyone here is always on trend and stylish. While out exploring my home-away-from-home, I chose to pair a teal mini with an amazing vintage leather vest that I scooped up at a Parisian flea market a few days ago (score!). This outfit is streamlined and edgy, perfect for exploring London on a sunny summer day. Cheers!

TGIF

Dress: Forever21 (similar). Shirt: BDG (similar).
Shoes: Converse (similar). Necklace: Madewell. Sunglasses: Ray-Ban.

Thank goodness it’s Friday! The term “TGIF” reminds me of my favorite style decade: the beloved 90s. And let me tell you, 90s fashion is back (along with music too…Outkast reunion anyone?).  Oversized flannel, studded combat boots, and ripped denim were all over the runways last season. Here is my take. What do you think? Is 90s fashion for you?

In other news, I am off to Paris & London for a few weeks so stay tuned for my upcoming style adventures!

2 Chains

Over the past few years, I have become obsessed with layering necklaces. More is more in my opinion!  I built this entire outfit around two Stella & Dot studded necklaces (note: mixing metals is always a must). The white blazer vest and leather shorts add a touch of menswear while the leopard clutch and sandals balance the look.

Plaid, Please

I love a plaid skirt. Perhaps it is due to my private school days. Or because it can be worn so many ways. Whatever the reason, the plaid skirt has been a mainstay in my closet for years. I chose to pair my navy and green Madewell version with a black muscle tank, aviators, and studded booties. If I were back in school, I would definitely be breaking the rules.
